Explore Brodsworth Community Woodland
(Average user rating: 4 unrated 3.8/5)

This picturesque woodland is rapidly developing into one of the most attractive wildlife sites in the area.

With its mixture of broadleaf woodland, large open meadows and a scenic wetland valley, Brodsworth Community Woodland is renowned for its diversity of wildlife.

As you make your way around the 99 hectare site, you will come across some intriguing sculptures, wonderful vistas and perfect spots for a rest or a picnic. The woodland is on the edge of the nearest towns and villages but it allows you to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The site is owned by The Land Trust and managed by the Forestry Commission

Willow Birds
These birds are full of character, and a good introduction to random weaving. Create your own bird to perch at home or in the garden. Most people choose to make a chicken, pheasant or a duck.

are you aware that travellers caravans are setting up camp compete with white vans in the long lands lane car park? The height restricting barrier was open hense their ability to enter (UNLESS THEY OPENED IT) seen at 4.30pm 15th October 2011 Caravan Club members would happily pay ■25 per night for such a site!

I walk my dog on it everyday and love the place. It better and bigger than the one between toll bar and Bentley where I used to live. Only problem I have is that it too easy an access for off road Motorcycle. More should be done to make it preventable.

Considering what a blot on the landscape these slag heaps were, the transformation is incredible. Don't try to compare Brodsworth with an ancient woodland, it's a reclaimed slag heap. It's maturing year on year and on a sunny day the views with a little imagination are magical. I just hope the people of Adwick, Woodlands and Highfields appreciate what has been done.
