What do other visitors say?

Went to GW with daughter & her friends for her birthday. We've been doing this for years - can't tell you how disappointed everyone was about number of trees that have disappeared from the meadow - children were gutted. All the old places they used to make into dens have vanished. Still had great time but its not the same

What a lovely forest, I stayed here as a child at the residential camp that can be found as you enter. Took ages to find it though due to a lack of signage off of the A39 and the resulting miniscule lanes. Can't wait to come back, are there other marked trails than the red route?

We went to The Great Wood for the first time at the weekend and had a BBQ with the girls. We had a fantastic (and relaxing) day. The girls were happy to climb trees and play in the stream (shallow so we were relaxed knowing they were playing safely). Definitely recommend a visit here. Take a BBQ (or use one provided if you get there early enough) or take a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors.
