Whits Wood

The informal car parking area provides a place to stop and explore the woods. A woodland walk starts here which will take you on a circular route around Whits Wood.

How to get there:

Whits Wood is in Croydon Hill.
Follow the A396 south from Dunster. After crossing over the bridge just outside Dunster turn left and follow the signs for Luxborough.
There are a number of access points to the wood along this road. Whits Wood is on the right hand side just as you enter Croydon Hill.
Minehead and Dunster are the nearest towns or villages.

3 waymarked cycle trails have been developed at Croydon Hill by Exmoor National Park Authority and a leaflet is available direct from them. Follow the link on the right hand side of the page for more information about the National Park.

With the exception of bridleways horse riders require a permit to ride in these woods. Please contact the District Office on 01392 832262 for an application form.
Other Activities
This wood is home to the Somerset Stages Rally, organised by Minehead & Burnham on Sea Motor Clubs every March.
