Croydon Hill
Croydon Hill, just south of the seaside town of Minehead and on the edge of Exmoor National Park, is a large upland woodland littered with paths and hill top ridges for you to explore on foot, horseback or by bike. Some of the hills will offer a challenge even to the good walker. The peaks and valleys make it an ideal location for a range of adventurous activities including large endurance rides, orienteering and motor sports: Croydon Hill is home to the Somerset Stages Rally organised each year by Minehead & Burnham on Sea Motor Clubs. If you enjoy a more sedate past time there are plenty of stunning views to enjoy from the top of the hills.
How to get there:
Minehead and Dunster are the nearest towns or villages.
Follow the A396 south from Dunster. After crossing over the bridge just outside Dunster turn left and follow the signs for Luxborough. There are a number of access points to the wood along this road.
