Cuddys Hall picnic place. An ideal locaton just over the Scottish Border.Head for Newcastleton and follow the road signs towards Roadhead and cross over the Border at Kershope Bridge and up steep tarmac bends. Take the left fork in the road and continue to Cuddy's Hall picnic area.

How to get there:

Cuddys Hall picnic place is in Kielder which is part of Kielder. Kershopefoot, Newcastleton, Bewcastle, and Carlisle are the nearest towns or villages.

From Newcastleton (B6357 NE of Carlisle) follow the road signs toward Roadhead and cross over the Border at Kershope Bridge and up steep tarmac bends. Take left fork at telephone box. Cuddys Hall picnic site is sign posted less than a mile on the left.

What's of interest

The picnic area is by the side of a babbling brook with plenty of shade for the warm summer months. There is good access for Kershope Horse Route, Walks on forest tracks to Blacklyne Backpacking site.(Information on this is available from Kielder Castle Visitor Center)
