We walked right around this lovely wood today with the sun shining through the trees. Bluebells coming to their end but still a very pleasant walk. I have taken off one star because of lack of information in the car park, no leaflets as stated, and only found King Richard's Walk as we came out of it. Still worth visiting and will be back with the grandchildren.

We visited this wood at the end of April 2011 and what a wonderful experience it was. We could smell the bluebells before we saw them. We couldn't believe what a spectacular sight the bluebells were. Absolutely magnificent. A very neat, tidy and litter free wood. We'll definitely be back later in the summer to seek out the butterflies. Magic photo opportunities.

Lovely natural woodland with a mass of tracks that allow you to lose yourself in the trees.

What's of interest

This is a wonderful ancient woodland, and with its gently sloping rides, is the perfect place to come and walk. Try out the waymarked "King Richard's Trail", a two mile walk through some lovely beech groves. Follow the posts with the orange band on top. Some of the grassy rides may be muddy in places, so wear shoes with good tread.
