This ancient forest is a fantastic greenspace in the heart of Northamptonshire, and is an excellent place to visit during the summer. Salcey is home to many bird species, including goldcrest, crossbill and woodpecker.

How to get there:

Hartwell is the nearest town or village.

Salcey Forest is between Milton Keynes and Northampton, and located immediately to the east of the small village of Hartwell.

Spring is a lovely time to visit the forest, when the birds are singing and the trees are coming into leaf. Please be aware that there is a car parking charge: tickets cost �2 for the day. Annual permits are also available, at a cost of �24. Please call 01780 444920 for further details.
