I have seen the grave marker stone. It has a lovely carving of a horse on it. To find it, you have to walk straight up the gravel road from the car park, carry on across the junction where there is a choice of turning right where a group of silver birches stand near a seat, or left into the woodland, .. well don't go left or right but keep on the bigger path and you start to go downhill towards Stocken farm. Part way down, you will see it set just a bit back from the main walk. Hope you find it ok. .. and do enjoy the rest of the woods, but stay on the paths as if you wander off in some places there are swallow holes that can be treacherous if you fall into them, down where the sloping wilder part of woods are, and think mainly fenced off, but take care, and enjoy the woods.

when stationed at raf south witham the obelisk was for a horse named boxer which fell over the hounds during a hunt possibly owned by the cecil family grave reputed to be haunted
