Clowes Wood is a delightful mixed woodland near Whitstable, with mature birch and coniferous trees.

Its many paths and convenient car park makes Clowes Wood an ideal location for walkers - especially with dogs. its total area covers 236 hectares.

I enjoy our ride around Clowes but unfortunately paths are still blocked by fallen trees quite a few months after they fell.

Just to let you know my dog was bitten by a snake (probably an adder) on 3/3/14 at Clowes wood. You may want to post a warning notice? Apart from that, this is a terrific place for dog walking etc. regards, Peter Emery

thank you for letting us know Peter. we hope your dog is recovering well.

we enjoy a wonderful 3 mile walk with the dogs around Clowes Woods every week come rain or shine, all thanks to the good management of the tracks by the Forestry Commission. Never see motor bikes or quad bikes, just the occasional cyclist and horse!
