Recreation at Croft Wood

This woodland straddles the crest of the hill between Croft Ambrey and Croft Castle, both of which belong to the National Trust.

Parts of this woodland are historic wood pasture and ancient pollarded oak, sweet chestnut and yews can be found both dead and alive. The careful management of these veteran trees is a priority of the local Forestry Commission team with the financial support of Enstone Ltd.

How to get there:

Croft Wood is part of The Marches. Yarpole and Lucton are the nearest towns or villages.

Accessable from the National Trust Car park at Croft Castle (sign posted off the B4362), the National Trust may charge for parking, please contact them for details.
