About Berwick Glades
Formally farmland, this small, low-lying site’s extensive tree planting has created several slowly maturing glades. Around the site are excellent views of the Ingrebourne Valley, especially towards Hornchurch and Elm Park with, in the distance, an impressive hilly South Essex skyline. A real vista to recharge the batteries! It’s a well connected site too. There’s a public footpath running from the site’s northern edge to connect to Hornchurch, while beside the Glades to the south is Berwick Woods. Then, just over the River Ingrebourne and connected by a pedestrian bridge, is Hornchurch Country Park and the Ingrebourne Marshes plus, just south of them using the Ingrebourne Valley Greenway, is Ingrebourne Hill. Taken together visitors have a considerable area to explore and enjoy.
