Rendlesham Wood

Rendlesham Forest covers approximately 1500 hectares and is located in Suffolk's coastal heathland belt known as the Sandlings. The forest consists of large areas of coniferous plantations as well as broadleaved belts, heathland and wetland areas.
This forest is our main area for recreation and there are various picnic sites and recreation areas. The main one is Rendlesham Forest Centre which is located 4 miles along the B1084, as is the Forest Office.

How to get there:

Woodbridge is the nearest town or village.

From Ipswich, follow the A12 north. Turn off at the roundabout which is signposted to Orford. Follow the road to Orford (B1084) and the forest is located on both sides of the road.
