Holsworthy is a small but well used and enjoyed woodland, of mostly conifer. Wide, well maintained forest roads mean an easy stroll around these woods, where, if you are lucky, you may see deer crossing the path ahead. Clear-felled areas provide sunny open spaces where natural regeneration can be observed in action.
Phase One of the Holsworthy Wood Community Project was completed in 2005, supported by Leader+, the Ruby Country Initiative, and Holsworthy MCTi. This included the installation of a 'community bench' with the input of local children, a new picnic area, and development of the tracks and car park, including the installation of dog bins. It is hoped the project will be able to move into Phase Two in the future.
