Abbeyford Wood Entrance

An important area for wildlife, the scenic woods at Abbeyford attract both local visitors and tourists alike.

From here you can walk part of the picturesque Tarka Trail which winds its way through the Devon countryside.

How to get there:

Abbeyford Wood Entrance is in Abbeyford.
Leave Okehampton travelling north along the B3217. Take a left turn towards Hook and the entrance to Abbeyford is approximately one mile further on the right.
Okehampton is the nearest town or village.

Never found it. No signposts in Okehampton. Locals unable to assist us in finding it.

The information and bike waymarking here is substandard and does not meet the standards of the Scottish Forestry Commission sites e.g. 7 Stanes. Information about cycling at this site has always been poor and the success of the venue will suffer until it is more widely known.
