Please note: We advise people not to use the trails during heavy snow, due to the danger of hidden hazards and dangerously hanging branches. The car park will remain open, but will be untreated and may be extremely icy. If you chose to use the trails or car park at this time, you do so at your own risk.
The car park is a great place to start your exploration of the Blackdown Hills and at around 300 metres above sea level, stunning views are assured.
Start the waymarked Red Trail from here and after enjoying your walk, relax with a picnic and take in the beautiful scenery.
Or, if you're looking for a long distance adventure, why not join the 13.5 mile Staple Fitzpaine Herepath from here? This safe, circular, off-road trail is suitable for walkers, horse riders and cyclists alike.
