Castle Neroche Car Park

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

Please note: We advise people not to use the trails during heavy snow, due to the danger of hidden hazards and dangerously hanging branches. The car park will remain open, but will be untreated and may be extremely icy. If you chose to use the trails or car park at this time, you do so at your own risk.

The car park is a great place to start your exploration of the Blackdown Hills and at around 300 metres above sea level, stunning views are assured.

Start the waymarked Red Trail from here and after enjoying your walk, relax with a picnic and take in the beautiful scenery.

Or, if you're looking for a long distance adventure, why not join the 13.5 mile Staple Fitzpaine Herepath from here? This safe, circular, off-road trail is suitable for walkers, horse riders and cyclists alike.

How to get there:

Castle Neroche Car Park is in Castle Neroche which is part of Blackdown Hills.
From Taunton take the B3170 through Corfe. At the top of the hill turn left at the crossroads and continue along the road for a further 2 miles until you reach the signposted car park. The sign is quite small and can sometimes be set back in the hedge.
Taunton is the nearest town or village.
