Blackdown Hills

(Average user rating5 unrated 5/5)

The Blackdown Hills are designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Our woods form part of these hills and with areas of both ancient woodland and commercially managed forest they provide a rich and varied habitat for all sorts of wildlife, as well as being a place to enjoy for visitors.

The Neroche Scheme is a Landscape Partnership Scheme supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and a range of local organisations, led by the Forestry Commission, and covers the northern scarp of the Blackdown Hills. There are many changes taking place in the area - to find out more, and how you can get involved, visit the Neroche website.

How to get there:

Taunton and Corfe are the nearest towns or villages.

From Taunton follow the B3170 through Corfe to the Blackdown Hills.

Excellent facilities and very well maintained foot paths. Well signed and great views. An wonderful place to exercise yourself and your dogs surrounded by nature. A selection of routes for all abilities. I have never seen it busy so the forest almost feels yours.
