The National Forest
The National Forest is an area of 200 square miles across 3 counties where massive woodland creation and countryside tranformation is being carried out. The forest is being expanded for the benefit of local communities and wildlife.
New woodlands will complement ancient woodland, meadows, lakes and rivers, parks, towns and other visitor attractions to create a new forest for the nation.
How to get there:
Covering 3 counties Ashby de la Zouch, Burton upon Trent, and Swadlincote and Coalville are the nearest towns or villages.
By road
The National Forest is easily accessible from the M1, M42/A42, A50 and the A38.
