A pretty tree-edged car park offering a convenient starting point for exploring this quiet and scenic woodland.

How to get there:

Main Car Park is in Idless.
Follow the signs to Idless village from Truro. Continue beyond the village for a further quarter of a mile. The entrance is on the right hand side of the road.
Truro and Idless are the nearest towns or villages.

Nice wide roads but no maps at all, signposts are terrible so no idea which way is best. Gave up trying to do a circular walk. Nice place though. I noticed the first comment about lack of map was Aug 2010...nice to see someone pays attention to these comments!!

A map showing the trails could be put on a notice board. Also a brief history of the buildings.

With the exception of bridleways horse riders require a permit to ride in these woods. Please contact the District Office on 01392 832262 for an application form.
Orienteering
A permanent orienteering course jointly run with Cornwall Orienteering Club can be found at Idless. Maps are available from Penrose Outdoors in Truro.
