I called recently hoping to break a long journey for half an hour or so in the cafe, shop and visitor centre. The apparent parking charge of ■3 for non-permit holders, even for a visit as short as that, was enough to make me turn around and go elsewhere! What a shame. It seems that those who are not local residents and who do not wish to spend all day in the forest, but would happily spend some money at the centre, are being unfairly penalised.
