would be nice if you put the caar park opening hours on the website
Would be really useful if you provided an address and map link to your forests!
4 StarsRoutes may need to be prepared with harder surface for a wheelchair users. Some routes are completely unusable (it gets terribly muddy) after rain.

2 StarsSome trails are gravel, the majority are muddy and slippery - even in August! Some more work on improving the trails would make this a better experience for all visitors.

4 StarsThanks for info on this site: but what are the opening and closing times?!

4 StarsI agree with Josh that the OS map isn't suitable for circular walks. I had a copy of Patrick Coulcher's book, Wildlife Walks around the Cuckmere Valley. There is a circular walk in there and the route was easy to follow. Some useful other walks too. Abbots Wood was lovely for a rainy Bank Holiday Monday but a shame to see some litter around.

4 StarsAs above, lovely to walk in but really does need much better signing. I couldn't find the lake either!

4 StarsLovely woodland and a nice mature lake.plenty of pike and bream,a few carp and other species in there.could do with a little bit of management with regards to weeds.in reply to some peoples comments about the trees being 'chopped' down south of the lake- coppicing is an essential part of the cycle of maintaining a healthy woodland and providing habitats for a wealth of wildlife.look into these things before you comment please,or volunteer to help manage the woodland instead of making negative remarks and being idle.

3 StarsOur OS map wasn't sufficient for all the little paths and to avoid getting overly lost we had to retrace steps a bit. A big sign with a map on or a leaflet would be so useful - we found we couldn't do any ambitious circular trek because of the lack of maps. This would really improve facilities - particularly if you're going to charge for parking - which you do...

4 StarsThe lady (above) is absolutely right. This is a lovely wood, but today we got badly lost in it -- even with a compass and an Ordnance Survey map! You really ought to put up some sort of plan of the walks. Even a sign saying 'TO THE LAKE' would be helpful. (We never found it...)

is there any fish in the lake looks like a good place for carp
5 StarsI took my daughter and her dog to the wood last Friday, we loved it and so did the dog but a map would have been very helpful as at one point we were quite lost and it got a bit worrying. I would love to have a map of the wood - is the lake what we used to call the keep pond?

4 StarsI liked it, I think there should be more dog poo bins as there was an awful lot of dog poo firther into the forest that was unnessesary.

4 StarsGreat walking and exploring. Kids loved it, so did our 2 dogs! Only downside for dog walkers is the lack of dog-poo bins - they only seem to be near the car park. Not much good if (like us) you venture further into the woods.

4 StarsI've walked these woods on and off for the last 15 years, and have no complaints, have never got lost and thankfully have never met JDFreeman who clearly does need nannying (or worse). Avoid the crowds, come in May or October.

4 StarsA great park with excellent facilities and gret walks. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is the parking charges. They have recently gone from £1.50 per day to around £1 per hour.

5 StarsThis is a great resource. Main paths are well maintained and well signposted, other paths give more illusion of adventure! Varied plantings and management methods make walks interesting. Although quiet in the Winter, when active the wood ant nests are incredible, well worth a watch (at a slight distance!) for anyone who wnjoys the leaf-cutter ants at zoos. Varied bird life. What's not to like! My experience of other walkers and their dogs is generally very positive too. I guess it might be a bit crowded in parts on Summer weekends, but generally a great location.

wot a lot of pussy,s sounds like they should stay at home and explore there own gardens ,probably just bout manage that. i think wood is managed well and who needs signs, its what exploration is all about.
First visit on 23 Aug after 25 yrs shows minimal directional signposting: easy to get very lost (did). No warnings re. private property or access to walkers. Parts of wood appear poorly managed: some recent falls block paths entirely. Smaller paths poorly maintained. No explanatory guidance / leaflet / map. I don't need nannying, but safety seems to need a review. As a local amenity, it's apparently ok as a picnic / barbecue site, but as an extensive walking site with multiple permutations, directional / safety signing need a review asap.
3 Starsto many cyclists going way to fast they dont seem to know the county codes

4 StarsA recession-proof afternoon out and great place to bring the kids. We did a treasure hunt in the woods, built teepees, played in the adventure play area, had a sausage sizzle and topped it all off with an ice cream! (Toilet facilities could do with being improved).
