Guisachan
About Guisachan
Guisachan Forest is a mix of planted conifers with old estate plantings of Douglas fir, larch and giant redwoods interspersed with ancient Caledonian pinewoods. This a very beautiful and peaceful area with many opportunities for quiet recreation.
As well as Plodda Falls carpark, there are many forest roads that can be used for walking, cycling and horse-riding.
Plodda Falls footbridge is closed. There is a viewing area further down, just follow the path.
How to get there:
Tomich, Cannich, Inverness, Drumnadrochit, Struy, and Beauly are the nearest towns or villages.
From the A831, take the unclassified road to Tomich. Guisachan Forest is two miles along the forest road after Tomich.
There is an infrequent bus service from Inverness as far as Tomich.
OS Grid Reference: NH 280 238
