About The Rainbow Trails - Cerrig yr Helfa - Indigo

Waymarked in Indigo this is one of the longer routes offered in Dyfnant. It is a challenging route and is appropriate for the more experienced rider. The scenery is often spectacular and peace and tranquility offered makes for a very enjoyable ride. The route passes by the Cerig yr Helfa (Hunting Stones). The route passes many aspects of this upland forest with the opportunity to see and hear the Buzzard, Goshawk and Red Kite together with open rides where by foxgloves and willow herb can be seen. This route also offers the rider the Dyfnant Meadow Nature Reserve and the Llyn Coethlyn Site of Special Scientific Interest.

How to get there:

The Rainbow Trails - Cerrig yr Helfa - Indigo can be started from Penyffordd in Dyfnant Wood which is part of Dyfnant. Llangadfan and Llanfyllin are the nearest towns or villages.

The Penyffordd car park for the Rainbow Trails is located on the B4395. You can get onto this road off the A458 (Mallwyd to Welshpool) at Llangadfan or off the A490 (Llanfyllin to Welshpool) at Llanfyllin, taking the B4393 and then left onto hte B4395 signposted to Llwydiarth and Pont Llogel.
