Old Parish Road Walk - Blue Walk

About Old Parish Road Walk - Blue Walk

This path follows part of the ancient trackway that was the Parish Road and main means of transport in the valley from AD1100 until it fell into disuse in 1920. Rest along the way under the old broadleaved trees above the River Afan, on the occasional seats and tables offering splendid views of the valley. Return along the wide Afan Valley Cycleway which is the path of the abandoned Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway line.

How to get there:

Old Parish Road Walk - Blue Walk can be started from Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre in Afan Forest Park which is part of Afan Forest Park. Cynonville and Neath are the nearest towns or villages.

Situated on the A4107 - follow the road from the M4, Junction 40 for about 6 miles. Look out for the signs for Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre.
