Come and see the entries of our Insect Photographic Competition or take one of our Insect hunting kits out into the forest to see what you can find.

Why not join us on Saturday 30th June to go on a “Wild Bug Hunt” – a family fun activity where you can find out all about Insects and there lives. 

On Sunday 1st July we will also have a Wonderful Wood Ants event. Join us as we delve into the forest on a mission to find out more about the unknown world of the wood ant as part of our National Insect Week Celebrations. This event will start at 2pm and finish at 4pm. The event is free but bookings need to be made on 01877 382258.

How to get there:

National Insect Week starts at David Marshall Lodge Visitor Centre in Achray Forest which is part of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Aberfoyle is the nearest town or village.

From Glasgow follow the A81 north to Aberfoyle. From Stirling follow the A84(T), A873 then A81 west to Aberfoyle. From Callander follow the A81 south to Aberfoyle, or for a more scenic route the A821 via the Trossachs. The Visitor Centre is a mile north of Aberfoyle on the A821 (Dukes Pass).
