Rab's path

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Rab's path

A circular path that soon takes you away from the village environment and into the peaceful surrounds of this varied woodland.

The first 260m of the path is surfaced and the rest is a mown grass path with uneven surfaces. Take a break on the way round at a choice of resting perches and take in the views.

From Rab's Path you can now also enjoy a stroll around the wildflower meadow on a circular, surfaced path - Meadow Walk.  Just over 500m long, this path was improved in 2008 and now allows horses, pushchairs and cyclists easy access to the wildflower meadow. The path work was funded by a grant from the South Lanarkshire Rural Communities Trust

The path around the meadow is not waymarked.

How to get there:

Rab's path can be started from Ash tree entrance in West Forth Woodland. Forth is the nearest town or village.

The entrance is found on the A706 Lanark to Linlithgow road on the southern edge of Forth village.

Parking space is usually available on Longdales Road, beside the main road but please be aware that residents need these spaces as well. To enter the woodland cross the A706 near the bus shelter, being very careful of the fast traffic.

Enter the woodland at the short section of fencing, where you will see a sign saying West Forth.
