About Viewpoint

The Viewpoint walk takes you to to the summit of Priesthill allowing you to appreciate the full grandure of the views over the Liddel Water and far beyond.

A wildlife hide nestles under the shelter of the spruce trees, so why not linger a while and watch the wildlife go by.

How to get there:

Viewpoint can be started from Priesthill Car Park in Newcastleton Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Newcastleton is the nearest town or village.

From Canonbie or Bonchester Bridge, take the B6357, then take the unclassified road at the southern end of Newcastleton village and follow the signs for Dykecrofts.

Go straight on past Dykecrofts car park until you reach Priesthill car park.

I have walked this route 3 times now, middle of the 2009 winter, spring and now summer 2010. It has been a fabulous experience,different each time, obviously. The views are amazing and the history of the region fascinating. P.S. don't tell everyone!!!
