About Drove Road

This trail takes you to the old settlement of Belshiel

You are following the footsteps of the cattle and sheep drovers who plied their trade between the pastures of Scotland and the markets of England.

How to get there:

Drove Road can be started from Priesthill Car Park in Newcastleton Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Newcastleton is the nearest town or village.

From Canonbie or Bonchester Bridge, take the B6357, then take the unclassified road at the southern end of Newcastleton village and follow the signs for Dykecrofts.

Go straight on past Dykecrofts car park until you reach Priesthill car park.
