About Ponds Walk

This is a steep walk down to the Ponds and back up again.

How to get there:

Ponds Walk can be started from Lower Cheviot in Hyndlee Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Hawick and Bonchester Bridge & Newcastleton are the nearest towns or villages.

From Hawick, head to Bonchester Bridge on the A6088. Turn right on to the B6357 south towards Newcastleton for approximately four miles, past Hell's Hole, Hyndlee forest entrance and Piet's Nest car park.

Lower Cheviot is on the left-hand side.
