About Red Route

The Glentress Red Route is a ‘greatest hits’ compilation of all that’s best about mountain biking in Scotland. It includes big climbs and technical downhill sections, as well as the legendary Spooky Wood fun park.

Check out Pennel's Vennel, Hit Squad Hill, Lombard Street, the Pie Run and the Magic Mushroom.

For more information, including trail conditions, please see the official 7stanes website.

How to get there:

Red Route can be started from Overflow (upper) car park in Glentress Forest which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Peebles is the nearest town or village.

The entrance to Glentress is one and a half miles east of Peebles on the A72. Once on the forest road, follow the signs to the overflow car park, if it is open.

Amazing on both hardtail and full sus. Although, no real need for full. Best route i've been on in a while
