Wolfcleuch Loop

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Wolfcleuch Loop

The trail is diverted due to windblown trees at the Wolfcleuch Christmas tree field. Please follow the way marked diversion. (Updated 27th April 2012)

An energetic cycle for novice mountain bikers and recreational riders on a wide variety of trail types. The Wolfcleuch Christmas tree field may require a push up one steep section, but otherwise the riding is fairly straight forward (currently diverted).

How to get there:

Wolfcleuch Loop can be started from Craik Car Park in Craik which is part of Forests of the Scottish Borders. Hawick is the nearest town or village.

From Hawick, follow the A7 towards Carlisle.

At Martins Bridge, turn onto the B711 and follow this road until you come to Roberton, which is a very small village and school. Just beyond the school, turn down to the left and then follow the unclassified single track road. Craik Forest is well sign posted.

We had a great cycle on 18.7.10 but the lack of clear signposting following the diversion led to quite a few headscratching/map studying moments as we tried to navigate our way back to the car park. Cycle ride was fab, but slightly spoiled by unclear route.
