Carbisdale RED Grade Trail

About Carbisdale RED Grade Trail

This route has some technical features, such as "Little Red Riding Wood" and "What Big Teeth" along with forest road sections, and is for experienced mountain bikers.

If you need a rest when you get to the top of the hill have a look at the viewpoint overlooking the lochan. It is the perfect place to regain your energy for the cycle ahead.

Please note that Carbisdale Castle no longer does bike hire.

How to get there:

Carbisdale RED Grade Trail can be started from Carbisdale Mountain Bike Trails in Kyle of Sutherland Mountain Bike Trails which is part of Sutherland. Ardgay is the nearest town or village.

Take the train to Culrain Station.

Alternatively, drive north of Ardgay following signs for the Carbisdale Castle Youth Hostel.
