About View Rock Trail Green Trail

The green trail is a more energetic walk climbing up through the forest to the lovely vantage point which is the 'view rock'.

Follow the path from the car park up through the woodland to where it meets the forest road. Turn left along the road and branch off to the right on a ride after about half a mile. Continue up this track gently gaining height until it narrows to become a footpath, and on to the top of 'view rock'.

From here the panorama opens up to include Ben Wyvis to the north, Loch Achilty and Strathconon to the west and the Conon Valley and Fairburn Estate to the south. It's downhill from here through mixed woodland back to the car park.

How to get there:

View Rock Trail Green Trail can be started from Contin Forest Walks in Torrachilty Forest. Contin is the nearest town or village.

The car park is less than one mile from the middle of Contin village.

Take the A835 road west from Contin to a point about 200 metres beyond the 30 mph speed limit. At the green Forestry Commission Scotland sign, turn right.

Continue along this road for half a mile past some wooden buildings to the car park.
