About Moniack Burn Path
The forest trail follows the Moniack Burn upstream from the car park, crosses the burn by a wooden bridge (beside an old arched stone bridge) and back down the far side.
The path is generally flat with two steeper sections, though about half of the distance is easily accessible by wheelchairs and the less-abled. All picnic tables are also easily accessed.
Look out for the 10 tree identification signal posts along the forest trail. There is also a panel giving details about the huge Douglas Fir trees in Reelig and their origin.
How to get there:
Moniack Burn Path can be started from Car Park in Reelig Glen. Inverness is the nearest town or village.
Take the A862 road west from Inverness towards Beauly. After approximately eight miles, take the unclassified minor road on the left signposted to Reelig and Moniack. After half a mile, there is a green Forestry Commission sign pointing straight on to Reelig Glen - the car park is half a mile further on.
