Erracht oakwood walk

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Erracht oakwood walk

This walk starts in the main forest and uses forest roads for the walk in to the oakwood area. The roads are not well used and many wild animals are often spotted on your way in to the oak wood.

The walk then changes to paths as you leave the road and head up in to the oak wood itself. This path has steep sections both above and below the forest road. Keep an eye out for red squirels, buzzards, pine martin and many more woodland animals.

How to get there:

Erracht oakwood walk can be started from Erracht car park in Glen Loy Wood. Fort William is the nearest town or village.

The entrance is found by crossing the River Loy and turning left at the Forestry Commission signs. The car park is situated just over the cattle grid on the right-hand side.
