About Am Meallam Walk
The Am Meallan is a short walk but it climbs to an exellent viewpoint looking across Loch Affric and towards the western hills including the impressive Mullach Fraoch-choire, 1102m (3582ft). One of the several 'Munros' in Glen Affric.
From the viewpoint, you can see the many regenerating young trees showing the success of the pinewood restoration.
There is a tribute cairn here to Professor Steven and other foresters who have worked to save the pinewoods in Glen Affric.
