About Falls Walk
The Falls Walk is the shorter of the two walks to Plodda falls. This is one of the most beautiful falls in Scotland and is well worth a visit. There are several views of the falls, one of which is overlooking them from a bridge built in 1880 by Lord Tweedmouth.
The walk also passes through some magnificent Douglas fir and larch trees planted between 1895-1900. They are considered to be among the highest quality trees in Britain.
There are some impressive wood ants nests to see along this walk. Have a look but please take care not to damage them - they've taken a long time to
build!
How to get there:
Falls Walk can be started from Plodda Falls Carpark in Plodda which is part of Guisachan. Tomich, Cannich, Struy, Balnain, Drumnadrochit, and Inverness are the nearest towns or villages.
From the A831, from either Beauly or Drumnadrochit, take the unclassified road signposted to Tomich. Go through Tomich and continue along the bumpy forest track. Plodda falls carpark is 3.5 miles along this road.
There is an infrequent bus service from Inverness as far as Tomich.
