Walk through the woods surrounding the gorge of the River Inan with its waterfalls, pools and ancient broadleaved woodland.
The route first follows the old drove road along which cattle were driven from the far north to the markets in the south of Scotland.
Leaving this route you ford a burn before the route drops down to a bridge crossing the river above the waterfall, from where you walk back down the glen.
How to get there:
Inverinan Glen can be started from Inverinan in Inverinan Forest which is part of West Loch Awe. Inverinan is the nearest town or village.
From Lochgilphead, follow the A816 one mile north of Kilmartin. Then, follow the B840 to Ford then the unclassified road to Dalavich and Kilchrennan.
From Oban or Glasgow, follow the A85 to Taynuilt then the unclassified road south to Kilchrennan and Inverinan.

Wildlife
Mammals: Although elusive, otter, pine marten, fox, wild cat, red squirrel, red deer, roe deer and the unpopular mink can all be found in this area. We have information about Red squirrel, Red deer, Roe deer and Otter
Birds: Keep your eyes open for bullfinch, dipper, great spotted wood pecker, tits, tree creepers, buzzards and even osprey. We have information about Osprey
Insects and reptiles: Inverinan Glen is a really special place for butterfly conservation. We actively manage much of the Glen for butterflys through conifer clearing, coppicing and stock grazing programmes designed to support nationally important populations of small pearl-boardered, pearl-boardered and the especially scarce marsh fritillary.
Habitats: Increasing areas of the glen are being restored annually to expand the unique ancient atlantic oakwoods from the river area. We have information about Upland oakwood
