About Woodpecker

Walk into the 'valley of the giants' and past the whitty pear tree on this trail which takes you through coniferous and deciduous forest.

An accompanying leaflet is available from the Forest cafe, aimed at helping families discover and learn about the life of the forest.

How to get there:

Woodpecker can be started from Wyre Forest Visitor and Discovery Centre in Wyre Forest which is part of Wyre Forest Area Woodlands. Bewdley is the nearest town or village.

The Forestry Commission main car park is situated 3 miles west of Bewdley on the A456 at Callow Hill, and is well signposted from all directions.

Bus services 192/292 run between Birmingham and Ludlow.

The nearest train station is Kidderminster.
