Family Cycle Route

About Family Cycle Route

The Family Cycle route covers a 3 mile loop that starts at the Visitors Centre and loops through the forest on the extensive all-weather network.

Taking approximatley 1 hour to complete at a leisurely pace, the Family Cycle route is ideal for those with small children who would tire on the longer trails or newcomers to cycling just wanting a leisurely quiet hour in the forest.  Picnic benches are spaced approximatley every mile along the trail, which provide resting stops or somewhere for a picnic.

This trail is directly accessible at post 17 from Centre Parcs holiday village.

Maps of the cycle routes are available from the Cycle Shop.

How to get there:

Family Cycle Route can be started from Sherwood Pines Forest Park Visitor Centre in Sherwood Pines Forest Park. Old Clipstone and Edwinstowe is the nearest town or village.

Absolutely spectacular. Joined the family route from the Center Parcs access road, and a 2 year old, a 6 year old and 3 somewhat older year olds had one of the most delightful bike rides any family could wish to undertake. Beautiful scenery, a great selection of wildlife, and a surface that even the most inexperienced cyclist could handle with ease. What more could anyone ask for?? This place is a must for anyone with a young family, or who simply fancies a leisurely ride in pefect surroundings. 5 stars in every area!!
