Tarset

(Average user rating5 unrated 5/5)

About Tarset

From the picnic area this route leads south east along the pretty Tarset burn past the site where Sidwood House once stood. The route crosses the tarmac forest road and passes through recently thinned 'crops' of conifers. The route passes close to the open rough grassland on the forest edge and through some old sheep pens. The trail drops down returning to the picnic place after crossing another forest road on route.

How to get there:

Tarset can be started from Sidwood in Kielder which is part of Kielder. Greenhaugh Village is the nearest town or village.

Greenhaugh lies north west of Bellingham. Once in Greenhaugh travel north through the village and continue for a couple of miles following signs to Sidwood picnic and parking place.
