About Fungal Foray
Celebrate nature's fruitful season in one of her most glorious settings. During September and October, a wide range of events will showcase this truly stunning landscape and all Kielder has to offer, from unique wildlife to vast forests and from dark skies to ghostly apparitions. To begin these events we start with the annual search for the rich autumnal harvest of fungi with expert local mycologists, and a walk around Kielder Castle to learn what makes these innocuous little organisms so important in the forest ecosystem. Discover which mushrooms have their place in the kitchen and which could potentially kill. Early booking is recommended for this ever popular event.
