About Dalby Beck Walk (Red)
A pleasant walk along forest roads and firm tracks through some of the earliest tree planting in Dalby Forest. A short detour takes you to Ellerburn Pond and Bird Hide past the entrance to the bat hibernaculum (an artificial cave where bats can spend the winter). The route is mostly level and is wheelchair accessable as far as the pond.
How to get there:
Dalby Beck Walk (Red) can be started from Dalby Forest Visitor Centre and Shop in Dalby Forest. Thornton-le-Dale is the nearest town or village.
Follow directions for Dalby Forest given on the Dalby Forest page. The Visitor Centre is located approximately one and a half miles from the entrance to the forest.
