About Climbing Jack Trail
This trail takes in the majority of Mortimer Forest. Passing through a variety of woodland types and habitats and provides the walker with superb views across the forest and surrounding countryside.
Given the distance and the steep nature of some sections of the trail, this walk is designed for serious walkers with appropriate footwear and equipment.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ALONG THE ACCESS TO THE FOREST BARRIER AT VINNALLS CAR PARK AS TIMBER WAGONS WILL BE USING THIS ROUTE.
How to get there:
Climbing Jack Trail can be started from High Vinnalls Car Park in Mortimer Forest which is part of The Marches. Aston is the nearest town or village.
From Ludlow head out of town on the B4361, take the turning on the right just over the bridge sign posted for the Forestry Commission. High Vinnalls car park is about 2.5 miles along this road towards Wigmore.
