Symonds Yat Trail

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Symonds Yat Trail

Running up through the Iron Age fort and then around its eastern border, this trail follows tracks and roads through attractive mixed woodland. A slightly rougher section runs downhill but returns to the car park on forest roads. A nearby viewpoint can be reached by following a short section of the Mailscot Wood Trail, which has a rougher surface and steps.

How to get there:

Symonds Yat Trail can be started from Symonds Yat Rock in Wye Valley Woods which is part of Wye Valley. Coleford is the nearest town or village.

From the A40 at Monmouth take the A4136 towards Gloucester. At the Pike House crossroads turn left and proceed into Christchurch, take the B4432 left hand fork opposite the church and follow the signposts to Symonds Yat Rock.
