Mallards Pike to Wenchford Link Path

(Average user rating: unrated unrated)

About Mallards Pike to Wenchford Link Path

The trail links up two popular picnic sites in the forest. Following a stoned forest road for most of its length, the path runs through woodland rich in relics of its industrial past. From Mallards Pike look for the start at the bottom end of the main lake. From Wenchford, you can pick up the trail from the Blackpool Bridge end of the car park.

How to get there:

Mallards Pike to Wenchford Link Path can be started from Mallards Pike Lake in Forest Of Dean. Blakeney is the nearest town or village.

From the A48 at Blakeney take the Nibley to Parkend road. Mallards Pike is signposted on the right hand side after approximately three miles.

What's of interest

Look out for disused railway tracks and embankments plus stone quarries. There is also a listed monument, an ancient road known locally as the Roman Road, near Blackpool Bridge. Trail detailed in Forest Walks leaflet, available for £1.75 from the Forest of Dean's Coleford Office, Tel 01594 833057
