About Cannop Ponds Trail
This varied trail takes you through the magnificent oak and pine woodland of the Cannop Valley and then leads you around the tranquil ponds themselves, allowing you to spot the many birds and other wildlife. Keep an eye out for the beautiful Mandarin ducks on the ponds and the occasional fallow deer making its way through the trees.
How to get there:
Cannop Ponds Trail can be started from Cannop in Forest Of Dean. Coleford is the nearest town or village.
The ponds run adjacent to the B4234 Lydney to Lydbrook Road. The main access road is off the B4226 Coleford to Cinderford Road, close to the crossroads.
