(Average user rating: 5 unrated 4.3/5)

Grade of Trail:

  • Difficult

Length of trail:

6 miles

The Kitchener Trail is named after Lord Kitchener the famous General of WW1. The flowing and twisty trail links up the wider forest and a large number of wild trails. At 13km long, it is fast and a challenge to ride at differing times of the year.  The trail is graded red and is a great introduction to singletrack for riders wanting to progess into off road cycling.

A good fast running trail, it's a fairly easy red with everything being at least roll-overable. It is really good fun and has the advantage over a lot of reds of being about 95% singletrack and little forest road.

I ride here three or four times a week, love it, always do the Red two or three times, pop around the Blue, but have noticed lately, some people trying to go the opposite way round the Red, not a good idea, and also people walking on on the Red Trail. A Brilliant day out, Thank You.

I've never done anything like this before - really enjoyed it on my Center Parcs hire bikes as did my 16 and 14 year old sons. Glad it was dry - would be hard under tyre if the ground was very wet. A brilliant trail
