Warren

About Warren

Starting from the car park you follow the Warren trail which is almost the same route used in the 1800s. You will see the large specimen broadleaf and conifer trees planted during Victorian times, as well as the ornate stone arched foot bridges crossing the Black Brook in the valley bottom. Although not a long walk it is not for the faint hearted and there are a few strenuous climbs into and out of the wooded valley, sensible footwear is recommended. As a result of the storms in mid January parts of this wood will be closed on Health and Safety Grounds. Fallen and partial fallen trees are a danger to create a danger. Please adhere to all signage.

How to get there:

Warren can be started from Warren Wood in Warren Wood which is part of Radnor. New Radnor, Kington, and Presteigne are the nearest towns or villages.

Situated on the A44 Kington to Llandrindod Wells road. Approx just over a mile after New Radnor turn right into a council Car Park (Brown tourist sign). Once inside the car park follow the Forestry Commission signage to the Forestry Commission car park.
