About Family Mountain Bike Route
Circular family mountain bike route around the Usk reservoir. The route is 9km in length and suitable for 5yrs +. Although majority of this route follows a stoned track skirting the reservoir, there is a small stretch on a quiet public road. The route has attractive views across to the Black Mountains. Welsh Water have recently opened up the Dam Wall to pedestrian & Cycle Traffic - and this now forms part of the route.
How to get there:
Family Mountain Bike Route can be started from Glasfynydd Picnic Site in Glasfynydd which is part of Brecon Beacons National Park Forests. Trecastle is the nearest town or village.
Follow A40 to Trecastle, then signs for the Usk reservoir. When approaching the Usk reservoir follow signs for Talsarn. The picnic site is located on the edge of Glasfynydd wood when travelling towards Talsarn.
