Garwnant Cycle Trail
 

GARWNANT VISITOR CENTRE, TRAILS, PLAY AREA AND CAR PARK WILL BE CLOSED FROM THE 12th SEPTEMBER 2008 AND IT WILL REOPEN FOR EASTER 2009. THIS IS DUE TO THE REFURBISHMENT OF THE CENTRE.Good variety of Forest and open area on trail. Comes back on quiet public road alongside reservoir, this route passes through mature Douglas Fir woodland. Extended route is of a moderate grade taking in some steep climbs.

How to get there:

Garwnant Cycle Trail can be started from Garwnant Visitor Centre in Coed Taf Fawr which is part of Brecon Beacons National Park Forests. Merthyr Tydfil is the nearest town or village.

Garwnant is situated just off the A470 5 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil. It is well sign posted from the A470., It can be found on OS Landranger Map 160 and Outdoor Leisure 12., Public Transport is provided by Stagecoach 0870 6082608. There is also a Beacons Bus Service which runs on Bank Holidays and Sundays throughout the summer -Tel. 01873 853254
